Dave ordered the pulled pork sandwich and I ordered the Pimento sandwich. The pulled pork sandwich was okay. It was more tender than the sandwich at Lockhart’s, but still no where near as good as Slow’s. I ordered the Pimento sandwich with beef brisket and it was topped with pimento queso, jalapeños and mixed greens and it was served on a pretzel roll. The beef brisket again was just okay, not particularly tender or flavorful and it had a bit of gristle. The pimento cheese was really tasty as was the pretzel roll. The mixed green didn’t really add anything.
We also ordered the pimento mac ‘n cheese to share. It was pretty good, the pimento cheese added a nice flavor. It was made with capatavi-shaped noodles, which are a favorite of ours.
Overall, the visit was just meh. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t particularly good either. We would probably not go back again.
