Last week, my niece and my sister-in-law, and I enjoyed a Fairy Tea at Crazy Wisdom Bookstore and Tearoom in Ann Arbor. We arrived at the tearoom and were greeted by several “fairies” who seated us at a table. There were three different teas in addition to hot chocolate to choose from and on the table was a plate full of sweets.
There were about 15 girls (I invited my nephew as I don’t think fairies need to be a “girl thing,” but he wasn’t interested) and their adults and all of the girls were dressed up in fairy costumes. This isn’t required as they have a bag full of wings to borrow. I was lucky enough to score a cute fairy costume for my niece at TJ Maxx. After we had our tea and snacks, we adjourned to another room for songs and dance. On the website, it said there was going to be a story and a magic show, but I’m guessing this may be different depending on what tea you go to. Either way, my niece had a great time singing and dancing.
As we left, each child got to pick a prize from a basket. My niece chose a pencil with dog prints all over it. And then she got dusted with fairy dust.
If you’re interested in attending a Fairy Tea at Crazy Wisdom, you’re in luck as two are on the calendar: Halloween Fairy Tea on Thursday, October 24 and a Winter Fairy Tea on Thursday, December 5. For more information, see their website.
