It’s that time a year again, time for new year’s resolutions. The photo above has no correlation to resolutions, I just like it. And Pixel is cute. What are you hoping to accomplish this year?
1. Get back to exercising 3+ days a week.
Before we moved, I attended an exercise class that met three times a week. It provided a good mix of both resistance (weight) training, cardio, and abdominal work, in addition to a great group of friends. Once we bought the house and started working on it, I stopped taking the class and now that we’ve moved, I haven’t found a suitable replacement until now. A Title Boxing Club is opening up next weekend just minutes from our home and I can’t be more excited. I love boxing and it provides a great workout, I can’t wait to try it and I hope this will get me back into the exercise habit. I’m planning on supplementing my boxing workouts with weight training and cardio on my own.
2. Be more active – physically.
This is different from my first resolution. While my first resolution is about making exercise a habit, this resolution is about doing things that are physical and fun. So rather than exercise for exercise sake, but things like hiking, biking, and kayaking.
3. Be more active – creatively.
I want to work on things that help me be more creative. I’ve registered for Alice Bradley’s The Practice of Writing course. I’m planning on working on my novel again. And while they are for work, the Illustrator 101, Illustrator 102, and Illustration courses I’ve signed up for on Nicole’s Classes will also help me stretch my creative muscles. I’m planning on putting my sharpened Illustrator skills to work while I design my own fabric line. Dave and I also made some joint goals that include making at least one new recipe a month and perhaps taking some more cooking classes. This resolution is definitely a fun one!
