Last week, I attended a favorite things party. Everyone invited was instructed to bring 5 of their favorite thing (all the same item, each item should cost $6 or less). Everyone described their item and why they liked it and then we all put our name in the fish bowl five times. Each time your name was drawn, you got to go up to the table of items and choose one. So you brought five items, and you left with five different items. In the future, I would only put everyone’s name in the fish bowl once and then draw in five different rounds. It would prevent people from being able to choose multiple times before other people got to go even once, cough, like me!
I brought Biscoff Spread, which is a delicious spread similar to peanut butter or Nutella, but it’s made from cookies! It’s really delicious and oh so addictive. I left with a brown sugar bear, roller ball pens, paper napkins, lip balm and dessert gum, and my new favorite, C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine from Bath and Body Works. I really wanted to try the flavored olive oil with bread, but that was the first to go. I also didn’t get one of the cool plastic reusable cups or Curly girl stationery.
I thought the party was a great time. It was a lot of fun and it was interesting to see what people brought. It might be fun to host a themed favorite things party, like Michigan products, favorite junk food, favorite socks, etc.
