This past weekend while we were downtown, we stopped at La Gloria Bakery after lunch at Xochimilco’s. I had been there before, but not in years and Dave had never been there at all. We went specifically for churros, but the selection of sweets available is amazing! Tons of cookies, pastries, and small cakes in addition to tortillas and tamales (pork, chicken, or beef). Unfortunately, I didn’t have my camera with me, but you can believe me when I say that the selection at La Gloria is fantastic!
Before you make your selections, you get a cafeteria tray, tissue paper, and tongs. Pick out what you want and put it on the tray and then the cashier will ring you up. I got a traditional churro rolled in cinnamon and sugar while Dave went for the plain churro stuffed with dulce de leche. Next time I think I would have a hard time choosing between the two! The churros were a dollar each.
