Our garden is chugging along. So far this year we’ve enjoyed: cilantro, lettuce, broccoli, basil, cherry tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, chives, jalapeno and poblano peppers, and green beans. We’re looking forward to the rest of the tomato harvest as well as the sweet potatoes, butternut and acorn squash, celery, and tomatillos.
We had issues with rabbits eating the sweet potatoes and green beans and now we’re dealing with powdery mildew on the squash (Dave sprayed them with baking soda and water, so they should be OK), insect damage on the green beans and maybe some tomato blight, we’ll have to see. We haven’t had to fertilize (we typically use chicken or pig poop) this year due to the compost we put down at the beginning of the planting season. Our super sweet 100 tomato plants are almost as tall as the house!
