A couple of weeks ago, we checked out the Ann Arbor Farmers Market for the first time this year. There’s always such wonderful things to buy. On this trip, we were looking for rhubarb and strawberries. We managed to get the rhubarb, which we froze and vacuumed sealed for future jam making, but no luck on the strawberries. There was one farmer that had beautiful looking strawberries, but they had been sprayed with a fungicide and we were looking for non-sprayed berries. Maybe next time.
We also bought a lovely bouquet of flowers for Dave’s mom and a small bag of French macarons. I had never tried French macarons before and have been wanting to for a while. We bought ours from Cecilia’s Pastries. I had big expectations for the macarons since everyone online seems to be gushing about how wonderful they are and I was not disappointed. They were delicious! We tried the vanilla and orange blossom flavors. I can’t wait to try some of her other flavors, like sweet potato and lemon.
If you haven’t been to the market you should definitely check it out, they will be open on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer in addition to their regular hours on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
