Redbrick Kitchen & Bar

A couple of weeks ago, we finally used our Living Social deal at Redbrick Kitchen & Bar, which is located in downtown Dexter. We decided to go with drinks and a couple of appetizers. I tried the creamsicle martini and Dave had the sangria. The martini was excellent and totally addictive (I’ll have to try to recreate that one at home!), but Dave said the sangria was just OK.
We ordered three appetizers: stuffed poblano peppers, fried pickle chips, and buffalo wings (not the healthiest options, but hey it was Friday!). The poblano pepper (it was just one pepper sliced in half) was stuff with shredded marinated chicken and chevre cheese and topped with a sauce made with Frank’s Red Hot. It was delicious! I would totally order this as an entree (maybe 2-3 peppers) with a side salad would be perfect. The pickle chips were just OK. The breading was very thick and you hardly tasted the pickle at all. The fried pickle chips at the Blue Tractor in Ann Arbor are way better. The buffalo wings were quite good, nice and crispy, not dried out, and plenty of lip-numbing sauce!
While the food was good, our service was not the greatest. While the waitress got our drink and meal orders rather quickly, the rest of the service was slow or non-existent. After we got our food, the waitress never came back to see how everything was or to give us our check despite the fact that she walked by us like 5 times.
So would I go back to the Redbrick Kitchen & Bar? Probably, but not anytime real soon.
