This past Tuesday, Dave and I took the Wholey Whole Grain Breads baking class at Zingerman’s BAKE! We originally wanted to take the Amber Waves of Grain: American Breads class, but we didn’t want to wait until March to take it.
During the four hour class, we each made two loaves of whole wheat cinnamon swirl bread, two loaves of multigrain bread, and one loaf of whole grain rye bread. All of the ingredients are pre-measured for students and all the dishes are taken care of, so all you have to worry about it learning the techniques required for making your own whole grain breads.
The class was great, both Dave and I really enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot! It was small (only 12 students) and we had a great instructor, Alejandro, and two helpers (Shelby and Candy). I would definitely take another class at BAKE!, the hard part is deciding which class to take next! In my most wildest dreams, I’d sign up for a bake-cation, a week long course covering all types of bread (or pastry, they are two different courses)!
