While in the country, I expected to see your typical farm animals like horses and cows. I did see many of those, but was also treated to a few surprises.
Our bed & breakfast was the home an alpaca family. Their coats came in a variety of colors. The adults had a poodle-like appearance with their wool being recently sheared. They were so fun to watch, but the sweetest of the bunch were the babies. I wasn’t brave enough to find out just how soft their coats really were. I simply enjoyed the view and watching a mama alpaca’s love.
Nature’s other surprise came in a much smaller package. I often watch for the small and speedy hummingbird that reminds me of Quidditch’s Golden Snitch. Usually I just catch a glimpse of the rapid wings and pointed beak. I’m grateful to have captured this pause of nature. This one appears to be lime green. Perhaps I’ll get some fabric as a reminder of this moment.
