When life is a bit crazy with work, family, weddings, triathlons (go Rebecca!), or whatever you find stressful, you sometimes need a day in the country. Time with nature can unjumble your thoughts and make life feel less messy. It worked for me on a recent trip to Amish Country. A friend and I had the opportunity to slow down, relax, and follow the buggy-filled road.
We made our getaway an overnight excursion, but beautiful places don’t have to be far from home. My grandma often talked about Sunday afternoon drives as joyful outings. As vacations and dollars are limited, let’s try to bring them back in style and reap the rewards. And, until it’s Sunday, enjoy these pics.
I didn’t even mind waking up early to enjoy the sunshine and rolling hills of greenness. It’s as though it went on forever. These are views from our Bed & Breakfast, The Charm Country View Inn. The owners Paul and Naomi are celebrating its 20th anniversary. I’m celebrating their kind hospitality and stunning vistas.
There isn’t much better than a porch full of rockers to enjoy the view and good company. In my next few blogs, I’ll share a few more trip highlights.
P.S. This mini getaway was in northeast Ohio, but there’s Amish Country in Michigan too. Enjoy!
